Yeah the dream is true now !!!

Well I already got my nice 1700+ and now I got these on my list:

EPoX 8RGA+ - 80$US
2x256mb PC3500 Corsair - 150$US

I'll be using the onbard graphics since it's better than my Radeon 7200

The performance increase is shown by this nice THG benchmark (no it doesn't have anything to do with CPU so it's ok... )

http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/20030120/index.html

Now is the mainstream system with Radeon 7200 and after will be the fast system with MX440-8x

I won't stay like that for long... I'll change to A64 when SanFransico will be well implanted with good motherboard. And maybe I'll get an ATI board so no new videocard

This won't cost me much because I might sell my videocard, mobo, CPU, RAM, NIC and it will pay me half of my upgrade. THe other half will be from Xmas money. And if I have enough money, I'll buy a nice Western Digital 8mb cache 80G hardrive. And in Xmas break I'll be overclocking my computer

My upgrade might be more ram and a video card, but I'm getting that video card a little early 😛

What burner was it?

Pioneer DVR-105 OEM. At first it worked fine, then about 3 months(And about 20 DVD's Later) it started to work a little funny. It would read CD's/DVD's but it would take like 30 seconds to recognize what I put in. It could still burn, but it took longer than normal. Eventually it stopped burning CD's/DVD's on occasion. At that point I just put a CD-Burner in. I may try it again some day, but I doubt it. Blank DVD's are still to expensive for me

I used to have a Pioneer DVD-ROM that just slowly stopped reading discs ... doesn't seem like Pioneer is too reliable with DVD drives.

Prices are going down though ... you can get some DVD-Rs for less than a buck now

i'd get the new CPU and Ram. Video Cards only really help with games, CPU/Mem will help with alot more.

"I used to have a Pioneer DVD-ROM that just slowly stopped reading discs ... doesn't seem like Pioneer is too reliable with DVD drives."

hmmm, and I always thought Pioneer was somewhat reliable... ohwell, to bad we learned the hard way. Thats pretty sweet on the price of blank DVD's, I might try my burner again soon.

I have 2x256 pc3500 Corsair, and have been looking to get 1024MB of something (Corsair, Mushkin, etc.). If I don't decide to just get a single 512MB stick of Corsair pc3500 and run 512 in one channel, 2x256 in other, I was probably going to look at selling it. Anyway, when the time comes, let me know if you might be interested (like I said, haven't decided exactly what I'm doing yet, either).

Are U asking me ( since U quoted my reply) or asking Pun

No, I'm not interested but definitely Corsair dimms are dandy for an AMD set up, but I'm not sure about the margin of benefits on a dual ch. config. on an nForce2 ???

just curious, why do U need 1 GiG.......unless of course you are doing a lot of vidio/graphic editing, in that case, YES..the more the better, otherwise, 512 is more than a handful.

gotta go,

Sorry, message was for Punnisher Just quoting your reply because you said "get the memory". Probably not the clearest post I've ever written, but I'm in between coats of paint on a case and was just posting quick.

Windows XP actually begins handling memory MUCH better when it has 1gb+ of it.
