Hey Davo,
How bout a Cases and Cooling section. Without cases, we would have no place to put all our wonderful hardware (imagine LAN parties ). And where am I supposed to post my questions about watercooling? In the PROCESSORS section??? Anybody else have topics they would like to see?

OH, and Davo? When do we shed the rank of 'Junior Member' and become a 'Member'. Or how bout 'Senior Member'? Thanx.

A cases section and a cooling section would be nice.

Davo,

Thanks, I'm sure running all of this junk is really time consuming. And I realize SOME of us have lives outside of hardware The key is not getting it done the first time, it's making sure you get it done right eventually Thanx for enabling the signatures too!

All those specs look sweet OC junkie, but come on a Matrox G400MAX? Get a better video card please! =0) And why do u need all that 68GB of harddrive space??? Man u must have allot of porn =0). Switch your name to Porn Junkie. HEHE im evil. And Davo your doing a good job on the forum, i had one before and i know its a pain. To many options u gotta do.

OK, first of all, the G400MAX is probably the best 32bit color card in the world, thanx to its dual 128bit architecture. Second of all, I love the dual head feature, and I can't go back . Third, I got a this card for $125 and am skipping this generation because all the cards suck (waiting for NV15 and Voodoo5). And last, I need 68GB of storage because this is my digital audio AND video studio which eats up SOOOO much space it's not even funny! So there ya go.... My system rocks

Well i guess if u need to use 2 monitors.... but even with its 2 chip and 64ram, its slower then most cards. But for 125 bucks... i guess u cant go wrong. Ok ok maybe u do need the space for your video and sound editing, i know that 10 min of video takes up over 1gig (what can i say im smart =0). With the pc im gonna get this week ill either get the Viper II or the TNT2 Ultra card, not getting the GeForce since im also waiting for the NV15. I dont really like 3DFX, and the V4/5 IS gonna cost to much for me. If any of got any info on which card the viper 2 or creative labs TNT2 Ultra got better visual quility please let me know. I know their speed is about the same, but i read things about the viper 2 that it got poor visual quility and low max resolution. Also im having doubts since it dont got a fan just a heatsink, and the TNT2 got both....but then again the Viper 2 is based on .18m and the TNT2 is .25 just let me know what u guys think i should go with.

Rest of the specs for my new pc,

Athlon 600
Asus K7V
WD Expert 20.5GB 7200rpm
128MB PC133
CL TNT2 Ultra/Diamond Viper II ????
SB Live X-gamer
FPS2000 4point saround speakers
Viewsonic Monitor

WO, WO Venom! I am NOT using the ATI Rage MAXX dual chip card. I'm using the Matrox G400MAX 32MB Dual Head card, the card that schools the TNT2 in 32bit color and comes REAL close to catching a GeForce (a card that is a Generation ahead of it) in 32bpp performance. I have not yet put an ATI card in any of my systems, but if they can deliver with the Charisma engine or whatever, I may have to ammend that last statement.....
Anyway, for a review of the card I AM using go here. It's a great card for the price I got it at....

EDIT: After seeing Davo's review on the card, I realized he used old drivers for the OpenGL numbers. With the TurboGL drivers, these numbers would GREATLY improve. I LOVE this card

My bad must have read it wrong OC Junkie. =0) Ahhh what can i say when im so happy with this new forum things go right through my head. Well if u really think its better then a TNT2 then ill take your word for it so i might get one myself. By the way where did ya get it for 125 bucks??? Better not have gotten it from a friend =0). (I still like the TNT2 =0) So what u think is the best out of Viper II, TNT2 ultra and the G400 guys? Let me know so i know what to get. And the 2 monitor support wont have much use for me... since im only gettign one good monitor. The one i have now is a 15".

Venom,

Cheapest price I find is at Comp-U-Plus at $175 (I got it when there was some $50 discount, once in a lifetime).... The Diamond Viper V770 TNT2Ultra is $150. My advice would be to get the MAX and spend the $25 dollars extra. I think it's worth it!

The V770 32MB NON-Ultra goes for $108.00 at ASTAK. If you need to save some cash, I'd go with that. Actually, the V770 NON-Ultra is probably the better purchase, you can save some cash for the NV15, Voodoo5, and G450 (and if you overclock it, you could get TNT2 Ultra performance!)

Anybody else got any advice for Venom?

Thanks bro =0), and thanks for that link to the G400MAX review. If it really beats TNT2 in shogo by that much hell i dont want the TNT2 no more. I will see if i can dig up some more cash for the G400. This is gonna sound stupid, but im not into overclocking, i mean i read about it and all sounds fun, but im not gonna do it with my new pc. Until of cource i need the juice to run a game. I might overclock slightly but since i wont have good cooling, just the regular stuff, so i wont be able to overclock to much. By the way man, your repley was fast. I went to look at another post and come back and you wrote already =0).

When the BEEP am i gonna be a member and not a junior! AHHHHH

Forgot to ask..... how much is the single head G400? And is there a performance drop with the diference betwen the single head and the dual head G400? And any features in the dual that are not in the single? Since i really dont need 2 monitor support and i know the single monitor support card is cheaper.

Thanks,
Venom

Alright i just noticed im a memeber now =0) No more junior crap! WOOHOOO hehehe

Venom:

OK, those last couple of links were bad (the atacom place doesn't even carry V770's anymore) but this time I got some good stuff The G400 Single Head 32MB OEM version goes for $127 on the http://www.compuplus.com site. Just look under Video cards and get the 32MB single head OEM card. This has slightly lower clock speeds then the MAX though, so grab the overclocking utility on the Matrox web site and LET 'ER RIP!

Ok since your so smart and stuff.... i had my mind set on the ASUS K7V motherboard for my Athlon. U got any advice on a dif monther baord if any is better then that ASUS one..... i dont want an irongate (of course u know they suck! but just incase =0)... only a KX133 please. Well let me hear what ya think. Also i was gonna get the western digital hard drive the expert 20.5gb 7200rpm ata66 one.... but for a little more i can get the IBM 20gb 7200rpm ata66 one.... like i said before im not to into overclocking but is it overall better then the expert? Let me know what each one is better at.

Thanks in advance,
Venom
