Howdy people, most of you guys n gals have probably read most of the reviews on the new nvidia gpus. It is good to see the strong competition between nvidia and ati firing up to its limits. This can only be good for us as the consumer.

After Reading the HH review on the 5700 and 5950 i think that nvidia has made some much needed driver/hardware improvements. If i hadnt purchased my 9600 pro a few weeks ago i would have been in a difficult situation choosing between the mainstream cards. However i still think nvidia need to optimise their top card legally to get all the juice out of it.

Well that's my opinion, how do you people see the latest tug of war in the video card world?

the gainward golden sample does 550Mhz and 1050Mhz respectively. It also costs 800 euros (but comes with custom water cooling system)!

The new Nvidia Driver set is MUCH better. Halo runs alot faster on my 1800+ / 384MB PC2100 / GeForceFX 5200.

I like the 5700 alot, in fact, I may recomend it in my thread for the mainstream segment once I see it actually for sale, but I don't think I'll recomend it for long because the 9600XT will have OverDrive capability soon, and it comes with a HL2 voucher...but with these new drivers, I may start recomending FX5200's instead of my own trusty Radeon 9100 🙂

jeez louis joey. You only get 30 mhz increase on the 9800 xt so dont expect too much.

the free games are pretty tight tho
Edit:
rumors are just rumors, but it would be interesting if DoomIII was bundled with nvidia cards next year

Looks like nvidia might be turning around. Hopefuly they come out with a bios update for the rest of their cards to fix the pixel shader issue
