AMD has a good idea, (Game Code W/ A Product) but not as great processors. Intel's idea(s) is crap, but they have good processors.
If only we could meld the two together to have best of both worlds and then I'd have nothing to complain about, lol.
Put it this way: I'd go out on a date with AMD, but Intel is the sexy lady in the corner all alone I am staring at the whole time.

Honestly I believe they're better according to what uses you have for them. While it is true that Intel has better performance, AMD generally has a better performance/cost ratio which is likely to matter for basic computer purposes. I have used AMD and INTEL processors of about the same gamma and to be honest I've liked INTEL better for the versality it has. Im currently enjoying my i7 4770 😃
Intel=Video editing and stuffz+gaming

AMD=Budget Gaming, No Editing and Stuffz

I have been running AMD for many years and presently have a :

Processor: AMD FX(tm)-6200 Six-Core Processor @ 4032Mhz (turbo on)@ 4232 Mhz (o.c)

CPU Cooler : twin Cooler Master R4-L2R-20AC 120mm Blue LED Fans on Zalman CNPS10X Performa

Main Board Make : Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.

Main Board Model: 990FXA-UD3

Graphics Description : AMD Radeon HD 7870 Series o.c

Graphics Model: Gigabyte GV-R787OC-2GD

Memory Installed : 8192 MBs (2x4 Gb sticks)

Memory Make : Kinston Hyper X blue DDR3 1600 mhz

and 2 Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM Hard Drives

I use this system with my 46" living room lcd tv and a wireless mouse and keyboard , it is used as a media center / gaming & everything PC and love it , but am worried AMD has kind of falling behind in the last few years and no longer making socket Am3 processors ( witch I am running now) so when I have to upgrade next , will I have to go with Intel to get the same performance?

Yeah, I agree with JOMA, as I said, AMD for gaming, Intel for gaming, and if you want, recording and editing. Simple as that if you are an average consumer. Intel has better capabilities to run more programs cooler and possible faster load times than AMD, but AMD has good qualities too. It is all preference and who you want toside with an what you want to do with a processor from either company.
