I have an iPhone 5 right now. Is there any reason I should upgrade? Is the iPhone 6 that much different? In what ways?

iPhone has a consistent experience so the only thing you'll probably need it for is for improved multitasking and improved performance. Your iPhone 5 should be good for a couple of years (in fact they're still selling it) but if you find yourself constrained, you'll need to upgrade.

Still... It's all about the experience and if you find Android to be more usable such as when a HHer used it and picked it as it's main OS then use it. It may seem fun but you'll never know unless you use the phone for a determinate amount of time.

I've got a 5c right now and see no reason to upgrade. My phone upgrade is due in a few months but I honestly don't see any reason at this point. It does everything I need it to and performs well.

If it works for you don't upgrade!
