I came up with this build mainly to play heavily modded games (GTA IV,  Skyrim) my overall goal is to run pretty much any game on High/Ultra for about $1200 so what do you guys think of this?

P.S I know a 4GB GPU can be overkill for single monitor but some of those mods go well over 2GB VRAM.

My only suggestion is to bump the ram speed up to 1866 - it has always been said that it really doesnt make much of a difference, but that has changed with the haswell chips..

Also you should try and go for an i7 processor because you have to remember that makes everything run easier especially heavily modded stuff.

If that is too much you can go for a high end AMD processor and over clock it to get some really decent speeds.

But its your rig your money.

i disagree, the performance boost  from an i5 4670 to an i7 in games is about nill. I dont even know if there is even one game that can take advantage of the i7's hyperthreading (which besides the bigger cache, i think is the main difference) - so I say, stick with the i5

But he is going to be running heavily modded games and you have to think about future games that are coming to be more demanding of the CPU and the GPU.

Yeah I agree the i5 has a lot of power but more graphically intensive games in the future will run better on an i7.

Its like the i5 is a sports car and the i7 is a super car both really good.

true, but in 2 years, when they really start to make use of that extra power/hyperthreading... it will be time to upgrade! lol
