On one hand the Gigabyte card has the factory OC and tri-cooled  with a 3 year warranty (if that is important to you) The length of cards may be more important for your rig / config.Or the ports?

Might at well look at the Sapphire card in the HD 7870 series too. Had very good cards from Sapphire before, the included kit is a bit nice too plus the Sapphire Club.

By the way what CPU you got ? and what PSU you have ? you likely should have an 80+ 750W PSU

http://hothardware.com/R...CPU-Review/?page=9   Those FX-83xx are power hungry. chips The PSU you have, should handle both the FX-8320 and HD 7870 at stock speeds under full loads.

Unless you choose to 'performance tune' [OC]  both the CPU and HD 7850,and that depends  as to how you plan to use the system and cooling on the FX-8320.

Might as well ask  what CPU cooler you got ? and if you plan to OC [performance tune] the rig ?

Maybe be a good idea to just share a link to OCCT here ,  >> new version, solid test suuite  with stability -temp PSU charts etc, and the algorithms for Linpack work rather well with the FX series of CPUs.

I dont plan on performance tuning(OC) unless i need to.

The CPU cooler i have is the COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus.

yep they sure are! for what it's worth I have a Sapphire HD 7850 OC 2GB version and the twin coolers are pretty quiet. Sapphire folks revamped their cooling with dual x fans and  upgraded them since last year model. The one you ar e looking at is most likely the new coolers.

Still a tough decision to make and itsup to you to choose which is for you, but one thing for sure is that you will know the how and why's when you do. For what its worth ...here is an infamous quote that's still popular around this joint from realneil ......& me thinks it was something like

" I reserve the right to change my mind as many times as I need before I make up on my mind"

or something like that when facing a similar decision as which graphic card to buy.

I just got an EVGA 2GB GTX-680 ~and~ a 256GB Transcend SSD for $380 from a friend. The drive was new and unopened, and the video card is 8 months old. It was a fantastic deal, and that 680 is a great card!

I do my homework before I buy, and sometime I take a while to pull the trigger on a purchase. With all of the new stuff being released all of the time it's not any easier to decide either.
